I am thrilled to be back from a colonial adventure in Virginia and I have some new teas in my Etsy Shop to share with you! These flavors are perfect for autumn and winter tea time and are delicious! Available now to purchase are: Williamsburg Autumn, Jamestown Gingerbread, Yorktown Yuletide and Williamsburg Winter.

Jamestown Gingerbread: This tea was inspired by the first permanent English colony in The New World, Jamestown. Settled in the early 1600s, the English men and women of the colony would have had fond memories of the gingerbread prevalent at an English Christmas table, and when the spice was available to trade, they would have created their own simple gingerbreads for the holiday season.

Williamsburg Autumn: This tea was inspired by the cozy flavors of autumn and features my artwork “Williamsburg Pumpkins” on the cover of the bag. This tea is unique in that it is decaffeinated, making it easier to enjoy on a chilly autumn night with a good book before bed.

Williamsburg Winter: This tea was inspired by the beauty of winter and the special prize of citrus fruits to those living in colonial times. These special fruits would have been imported from the Caribbean on cargo ships and were often given as Christmas gifts. Enjoy this delicious tea for its lighter holiday taste on a cozy winter evening!

Yorktown Yuletide: The tradition of a Yule Log on the fire at Christmas was a direct tie between England and the American colonies. Virginians in the port city of Yorktown certainly celebrated the event with excitement as families would carry a special large log to the hearth to be burned in December. In modern times, this custom has been replaces with a chocolate confection of a dessert cake ‘log’ made of cake with cream fillings and chocolate.
