Happy St. Valentine’s Day, friends! Here in Oklahoma it is cold and gray and we are preparing for a children’s tea party and valentine making gathering. What’s exciting about the tea party is that I have a brand new tea available to share! “Colonial Romance” is a black tea flavored with chocolate and strawberry. It is so decadent and lovely! I have plenty for everyone if you’d like to give it a try! I also have a few winter teas left, and have restocked Colonial Lady.
The art for this tea label is my latest painting- which I also have prints of! It’s called “The Duet” and is inspired by the courtship of Thomas Jefferson and Martha Wayles Skelton.

Martha was a young widow when shy Thomas met her, and he would visit her with his violin in tow. Martha was an accomplished harpsichord player, and when other suitors of Martha heard the music they made together, they sighed and went home.
In this painting I have included books and plants, two of Thomas’ favorite things, and outside the window is the Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg. After their marriage, Thomas became Governor of the Colony of Virginia and Martha, of course, the Lady of the Palace. Sadly, Martha died before many of the important political events in Thomas life, but she was able to share that time with him in Virginia and start a family with him. Their daughter would go on to run her father’s household for decades.

The print is available to purchase and is 10×10″. The tea comes in a package of 20 individually wrapped tea bags, and it smells (and tastes!) heavenly! I’ve gotten such wonderful comments about it already.
Wishing you a wonderful day full of things and people you love!
Take Joy!
