I love the promise of a new skein of yarn, and thought there was nothing so befitting the first day of the new year as a freshly wound ball of yarn and plans for leisurely knitting with no holiday deadline.

Oh Heather…Good for you! I am about to open an Etsy shop and it is a bit daunting, but I wanted to be intimate and special. Isn't it wonderful that this new month is sort like a planning month? To set goals and really take a look at what worked and what didn't of the year that just passed.Enjoy your new yarn…. and Happy New Year my friend! by the way, your lovely pictures are a hit with everyone that visits the cottage :-Dblessings,Maria

Beautiful photos. Pleasure to look at. The yarn – yes, I bet you will turn it into something beautiful. The colour looks lovely – natural and cosy. I've been also into wool recently. Wanna learn to knit this year – my resolution. Love the picture of a lady in the background.

Even though I grew up in Oklahoma, I don't think I've ever been to Claremore. Looks like some gorgeous yarn! I think you're brave to step back a bit from work work work to try to enjoy life more. I think our society expects people to work so much that it negatively affects our lives. Best wishes for 2012!

Mangled 🙂 ? I don't believe that for one moment 🙂 A very, very Happy New Year dear friend. Lets face it, you have to enjoy what you make, deadlines are all very well, but if you don't enjoy it… everything starts to become hard work 🙂 🙂 xxxx
