Well, I finished the gray scarf the other day. I stitched until I couldnt stitch any more! I think it came out nice and because of the wool content it’s very warm! I took this photo outside yesterday evening when the winds started picking up and getting a little brisk. That night we saw our first whirling snow come tumbling down. It was just a dusting— the whole world looks like a gingerbread cookie with a little bit of icing. But it was so pretty, and its nice when snow is unobtrusive. Just pretty. That’s nice.

I like that quote! My muse and I have been laying low, because we're in one of those seasons of parenting where you do well to just keep holding the basics together every day until you fall in bed at night. Ivy is teething and on day 4 of a cold, and she's no longer the dream sleeper that she once was. I am doing well to just get dressed every day and keep us all fed. Sigh. This too shall pass, huh?Love the scarf and your gorgeous haircut. Excited for you about the Shades of Brown show!

What a lovely picture of you, smiling in your scarf. Just catching up here … your vintage photo is perfect!Shawls. If you want something easy check out this one … http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/shawls-shrugs/feather-and-fan-comfort-shawl.htmIf you take a look at the Ravelry page for this pattern you'll see lots of people don't add the fringe … I think I prefer it that way.Happy knitting x

You're so cute! I like your scarf, too. I usually get a knitting itch this time of year, too, and this will be the first winter I totally ignore it–I've got a wrist injury that knitting only seems to aggravate. 😦 I'll have to check out OnBeing. I've never listened to it, but I am a huge fan of American Public Media.

Oh your scarf is SO lovely! I adore the color – it's perfect for winter. The easiest shawl to start off with is a triangle scarf – the Stitch 'n Bitch book (the first one) has the instructions. If you like, I can send them to you. 🙂
