The High Kings – Will Ye Go Lassie Go

Sure, they’re technically talking about foliage…but finally! Finally a song that mentions my name!

Vindicated by a Scottish melody 🙂

  1. Gosh, that's a blast from my past … I used to sing this around camp fires as a child. Heather methinks you need to visit the UK and see what they are singing about … purple heather hills, one of the most glorious sights on Gods earth!

  2. I do love this song! My family has Scotch/Irish lineage from my Dad's side. Apparently,Dad's great-grandfather came over during the potato famine and settled in the midwest. I believe my name, Winifred, was one of those old family scotch/irish names. Visiting the British Isles and Ireland is definitely on my bucket list of places to visit!!

  3. Annie, I know! I really think my husband I need to visit one day. I would try not to be a hopeless American tourist 😉 it just seems to be the land of everything I love!Around here we have a plant called Mexican Heather, and the official strain is called 'Heather Allyson' which is my middle name as well! I spent my college years working in a plant nursery, so I found that endlessly fascinating 🙂

  4. It's on my list too, Winnie! The problem is I have a hard time choosing where all I'd want to visit! Scotland! Ireland! North Yorkshire! London! And I'd love to see Jane Austen's home and the Brontes at Haworth. I think I'd need more than a weekend, most definitely! But I'd take what I can get!
