Prims Magazine feature!

 Hi friends,
    Yesterday I opened up my mailbox and found this inside— the spring/summer 2013 issue of Prims Magazine! The most exciting part? It features an article by me and one of my paintings!~

   I believe this magazine will officially hit news stands on May 15 and you should be able to find it in most major book stores, or you can order this and all the other Stampington magazines online.

   This is a great magazine for primitive style doll makers and artists who paint in a more old fashioned genre. The painting that is featured with my article is sort of a blend of both– it’s “Clara and her Doll” which was inspired by an old daguerreotype of a young girl holding an Izannah Walker doll.

   I painted it a good while back, so it’s fun to see it with fresh eyes now and printed up so nicely! You can really see all the crackle and aged detail in the printing of the magazine, I think it looks great!

  3. Congratulations Heather on being featured! I will definitely look up the magazine in May to read all about it. It must be so fun to be invited to be a feature. I am so drawn to primitives and folk art. There is something so simple and real about the look that appeals to me.

  5. Congratulations Heather! I'm not surprised at all that your work and article are featured in such a stellar publication. Stampington does such a great job with their magazines and your painting looks amazing in print. Wonderful for you!I can totally relate to you on your last post, too. Sometimes the more cluttered my home gets, the more frazzled I become. This is the best time of year to spring clean, though. And it least the fact that you're moving forces you to go through stuff, right?Enjoy all your knitting and other projects. xo, Susan

  11. Thanks, Susan! I agree, the Stampington Mags are so beautiful and well done. Great quality.And yes…I am pretty frazzled. I come on here to the computer to calm my brain. I'm eager to get to paint again, for sure!

  15. Let me add my congratulations too! How exciting. I will definitely pick up a copy. I love the Stampington publications. They're so beautiful and inspiring. Also, I didn't know about Izannah Walker dolls. Thanks for sharing that. Very interesting.

  17. how wonderful you and your art in the magazine! so much happiness I wish you, and yes, all your art that lives at my place is visible and that postcard I love! welcome May..little closer to summer, but still not much warmth here. but I´m working on our livingroom now so it doesn´t matter so much ***love Lycke
