New Christmas Art: O Holy Night

Hi friends– I hope you are doing well. I’ve been busy with all sorts of projects, and we are still going full steam ahead with homeschooling 2nd grade this year!

One of my latest finished projects is this new painting “O Holy Night”, which depicts the Holy Family in the stable in Bethlehem, complete with stable animals! I had fun painting the shaggy cow and donkey– I think the first cow and donkey I’ve ever featured in a painting? With this piece it was important to me to include St. Joseph and I wanted to show the family together and tenderness between them. I am happy with how it came out!

This piece is now available as the original painting and an 8×10″ print in my etsy shop.

I’ll be adding new pieces to my shop as they’re complete, and sharing with you more on my bigger projects as I’m able to. It’s safe to say, I’ve been pretty busy! But I’m so thankful for those of you who have started your holiday shopping in my Etsy shop and I hope you and those you love enjoy their Sleightholm Folk Art.

At the moment, I still have plenty of Christmas cards available, and everything you see in my shop is in stock and ready to ship. I DO offer international shipping by request, all you need to do if you’re outside the US is message me via etsy and let me know what you’d like to order. That way I can give you a more exact idea of what the shipping charge will be.

I hope you’re having a wonderful November, and I’ll be back soon with more to share!

Take Joy–

H

  1. Beautiful Nativity scene and I love the icon look about Mary and Joseph with their golden halos. It reminds me of folk art with a nod to Christian art of the Middle Ages that one finds all over Europe.
