It’s so rainy and cold out, that the truth is, I’m trying to stay awake! I’ve got lots of grand plans to keep me busy, of course. So far I’ve made four skirts for my daughter and I’m attempting to make some cute little tattery petticoats for us both. Here’s hoping they work out!

I JUST received the most beautiful edition of Anne of Green Gables yesterday…after I ordered it from seeing it on Pinterest. Must be in the air!!! I like the idea of spending the rainy day with a book- it's rainy here, as well. The fabric your using (in your photo) is divine! LOVE IT! ~AMY

Your pin cushion is so fun! I wish I knew how to sew, I don't think I have the patience for it
It was so strange having freezing rain last night after the nice couple days we have had, Kansas…and Oklahoma weather is so indecisive!

We finally got rain on Saturday night here in Florida but without the bone chilling cold! I do love the skirts and I have a huge fondness for old fashioned petticoats!! In the 1950s, we all wore various types of petticoats with dresses. I love the old fashioned kind that are soft and have ruffles. Please post some photos of your tattery petticoats!! Do we know what sort of petticoats Tasha wore?

A very Bronte type of day indeed! What a lovely thing to say. I love what an image that conjures up.. I think I may delve into Jane Eyre for the first time in a few years. In fact it's funny that you mention that, as my brother is a 4th year film major in university, and has to write a script based on Jane Eyre. He is running everything past me because the story is so beloved to me. I've never read Emily of New Moon but I know that there's a tv show. Should I read it? And I love Anne! I have an Anne porcelain doll. She's such a national icon up here in Canada.

I've never read the Anne of Green Gables books. I never used to have my head out of a book when I was young, but there's still so many books that have passed me by.

Love those \”Brontë days\”! It's been too long since I've read Anne's House of Dreams. I don't even remember Anne and Gilbert's wedding! It's definitely time for a re-read of those books.

Winnie- I'm sure Tasha's petticoats were true to period, she probably had the real vintage stuff! I just posted pics of the petticoat in the above post, hope you like it!

Lauren, its that Anne time of year again I think! AHOD was rather brief on the wedding, and in my opinion lacking in any romance. I have a feeling LM Montgomery was more comfortable with childhood type love and not as comfortable with adult scenarios.
